About Us
Mamoru Takitani's dream of creating a world-famous candy came true, thanks to his pioneering spirit. In fact, Hawaiian Host started as an experiment in Mamoru's parents' attic on the Hawaiian island of Maui.
Hawaiian Host is the original chocolate-covered macadamia. Hawaiian Host is also the largest manufacturer of chocolate-covered macadamias in the world, as millions of boxes of our treats are shared all over the globe.
Hawaiian Host combines premium ingredients-- milk chocolate, dark chocolate, Hawaiian honey, Kona coffee, to name a few--with dry-roasted macadamias to create its signature delights.
Hawaiian Host products, after years of success, are associated with the Japanese word omiyage, meaning: a thoughtful souvenir from paradise to gift to friends and family. This gift from paradise is how Hawaiian Host shares the spirit of the Islands with the rest of the world.
Even at home in Hawaii, kamaʻaina (locals) tend to have a box of Hawaiian Host on-hand, waiting to give as a gift--or simply enjoy for themselves. After all, who wouldn't want to sink their teeth into buttery, rich chocolate macadamias? One bite and you are whisked away to paradise. For some people, eating Hawaiian Host is like taking an imaginary trip to the tropics; for others, it's a reminder of their journey. For kamaʻaina, eating Hawaiian Host is a reminder of how lucky they are to live in one of the most beautiful places on Earth.
Founded and based in Hawaii, Hawaiian Host--nearly 100 years old--is part of Hawaiian Host Group, fusing Island spirit into every macadamia creation. As for the secret chocolate recipe Mamoru created years ago? Yes, Hawaiian Host still uses that, too.
Genuine. Classic. Original. This is not just a tagline, but words that resonate throughout Hawaiian Host's rich heritage.
